“Is it me?’‘ My coined phrase. I definitely have to ask myself this on a regular basis. People can’t be this damn clueless! I simply do not comprehend how in this day and age with life being as fragile as it is, how we, collectively cannot just support one another. I see people receive more support from strangers and casual acquaintances than they do from family and so-called friends. It’s almost as if they want you to fail. If you can’t count on friends and family, who can you count on?
Can you imagine how mentally damaging this lack of support could be for someone who already has low self-esteem? It continues to further effect their mental health. This, in my opinion, is how what I call the crabs in a barrel begins. Everyone is fighting to keep each other from getting ahead…afraid of them doing better than the other…no one gets ahead. Again, failing to break-the cycle is due to certain mental-health issues not being addressed. If we can dispel the stigma, we could change so many things in the world.
Today is Friday, December 17, 2021. We’re almost at the finish line. Let’s get it get it! Many will receive their last pay before Christmas. Prayerfully, we will spend within our means and celebrate the true meaning of the holiday by enjoy time with family and friends.
