As I continue to work on my healing and focusing constantly on a healthier mind, body, and spirit, I am ever changing; ever growing, doing all I can to walk in the purpose God has set for me. As a part of this walk, I joined a prayer group between my church and a sister parish and was assigned a weekly prayer partner. She and I have had an amazing bond, and our conversations have been refreshing.
We are centering our prayer and discussions around the book Joshua Winning the Worry battle. Me going through so much and being pulled in a thousand different directions has definitely caused me to worry. Reading this book, I’m excited about the change that has begun. I hope I continue on this road. More importantly, I pray that the worry soon dissipates. This has given me insight to make today’s word on Day 12 of MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH, worry.
The dictionary defines worry as anxiety or uncertainty over actual or potential problems. Anxiety? Uncertainty? Worry? We all worry at some point in our life; however, I have been worrying more than usual these past two months. So much to do…so little time. Not only does worry affect us mentally, but it affects us physically as well. Too much worry causes my heart to race, exhaustion, poor sleep, achy muscles and poor immunity, to name a few. Each of us can be affected in the same way.
With my prayer partner, we are learning to release our hold on worry and let God be in control.
