TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

As violence continues in city and states throughout the country, the murder rate continues to rise, the numbers are what everyone focuses on…looking for a solution, Candidates campaign for Mayor, Governor and States Attorney. The media sensationalizes, and the politicians point fingers. The parents and teachers shift blame and the entire time, we, the people, who act as consumers, workers and taxpayers, suffer. Many are awaiting change; frustrated, while doing nothing to take part to invoke change.

Four days into June, and it begins just as May ended. Already we’ve had shootings in our city streets, and another mass shooting in a hospital; yet many are still asking why. The media, the community, we, as the people of Baltimore can’t figure out why, and continue to ask what the mayor’s crime plan is. Many want a new Commissioner. The Governor wants an immediate crime plan. All of this is going on, and nothing is being accomplished.

Until there is accountability from all sides, the problem will persist, and we will never break generational curses. We will never properly prepare our youth for success. If we fail to set the example and actively take part in taking back our city, this generation has no real chance to ever become better parents, citizens or God-fearing leaders. Until we re-direct our financial resources into mental health and a better mental well-being for our youth and young adults, we will continue to bear witness to the rapid ever-growing trend of bigotry, hate, envy, violence, and other non-Christian acts that tear down the Kingdom of God.

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. It takes a partnership to clean up our city. It is not the job of the Mayor, the Governor, nor the Commissioner to fix the problems in our city. It is the job of the People. It is now, and always has been, a collaborative effort. What is different now versus in the past is a lack of discipline, and accountability and teamwork. For anything to be successful, there must be teamwork.

As parents, we must hold our children accountable, and we must understand that we have to allow others to do so as well. The term “It takes a village to raise a child” refers to people working as a TEAM. We must allow the police to police and as citizens we must roll up our sleeves and do our part by volunteering, voting, and instilling the same into our children. This is teamwork; we all participate in rebuilding our city and saving our children.

Everything that takes place affects each of us. We are called to build up the community of God. Tax dollars need to be invested into mental health and youth resources. Rehabilitation programs should be focused more on our teens and young adults. The key to fixing any problem is to focus on helping those who are causing the problem. Saving our youth and ensuring that they are mentally healthy in order to end the vicious cycle. We have no HEALTHY future without investing in our youth. The key factor, however, is that we have to get our hands dirty. We cannot spectate. In order to see results we must be active members of the team because Teamwork makes the Dream work! Then and only then will we truly see change.

MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!!! Dying to be Perfect !

I am a recently single mother of four wonderful adult children. I love young people and have a passion for developing and motivating people. After spending over thirty years in the customer service industry, and my world was suddenly turned upside down, I found myself having to start my life over. Realizing that I could no longer maintain a healthy mental state while working with the public, I decided to use my passion for helping people and motivating US to turn our PAIN INTO POWER.
