LIFE GOES ON

It’s Christmas, but no one can really tell. For the first time in years, I can honestly say that I wasn’t bombarded by Christmas. There has been hardly any Christmas music being played, and until now I haven’t seen many people rushing the stores. Not many people seem to be in the Christmas spirit; yet, still, IT’S CHRISTMAS! One thing that this teaches us, if noting more, is that Life goes on. Regardless of how prepared…or not…that we are, rather than stop; the axis keeps spinning, and LIFE GOES ON.

It seems so unfair, that as we go through difficult times throughout life, nothing ceases. Life, and its lessons, continue to teach us. Death and loss continue to happen all around us, and no matter how we feel or how unprepared we may be…Life goes on. We get little time to figure things out. We get no waiting period to recover. Even with all of the damage and destruction, the bills still have to be paid, the funerals have to happen, the holidays continue, the seasons change, businesses run, our friends and family continue to live their lives. LIFE GOES ON!

Oftentimes, we get so focused on the holidays, special events, or the next thing to do, that we forget to breathe. We ignore the hurt…disguise the pain…fail to discuss our feelings, and many even pretend to be ok. Because of the “everyone goes through stuff” mentality, many of those who are experiencing life-altering tragedies are fearful of talking about it and are afraid to admit that they are struggling while trying to keep taking blows. Without the proper ability to grieve, our mental health can be affected. We fail to seek professional help or otherwise and therefore inadvertently continue the cycle.

In order for us to change; break the cycle and simply, do better. On this new day, and in the new season, we have the opportunity to do new things. Finally, let’s work on who we want to be, and the newness we want to see in this season and right now. We are failing our youth miserably, and we can no longer observe…we must act. As of today, we will no longer simply stand by as LIFE GOES ON. as of now we must live through our pain in order to walk in our prayerful purpose.

I am a recently single mother of four wonderful adult children. I love young people and have a passion for developing and motivating people. After spending over thirty years in the customer service industry, and my world was suddenly turned upside down, I found myself having to start my life over. Realizing that I could no longer maintain a healthy mental state while working with the public, I decided to use my passion for helping people and motivating US to turn our PAIN INTO POWER.
