One thing that I have learned during this Spiritual Awakening, is that God uses various people, places, and things to show how powerful He is. He will do many things in order to get our attention; often subtle. When we are truly in tune with Him, and our relationship is at a deep and spiritual level, those subtle things are not subtle at all. They are as if He is speaking directly to us.
Oftentimes, when we are living in our sin…valley periods… struggles, there will be several periods of darkness. During those times, it is very easy to become disconnected from God. We feel that He has failed us or simply is not listening. My experience has been that He was answering my prayers the entire time, but I just wasn’t hearing Him. I wanted a different answer than what He was giving me. I was doing what I thought He wanted me to do; however, the entire time, God was leading me in a different direction; on a different path.
God’s path led me away from the people who were keeping me from fulfilling the purpose He had for me. Once I began to see His light, and understand that the people He was now placing in my path were there to help me to hear God’s message, and to understand that I had to truly trust God’s process, my darkness became much brighter. The process was difficult, yet necessary. It was painful yet purposeful. It is ongoing and rewarding. In addition, I have grown deeper in my faith. I have also grown to love God and His people who are hurting and in need, even more.
We will not always get others to understand the path in which we are now on, and that is ok. We can not, however, allow the doubt of others to stray us from our path and the Purpose that God has for us. Sometimes there will be those who will never receive our message. That, too, is ok. We can not, however, allow that to prevent us from delivering the message that God has placed on our hearts. When it is truly from God, He will guide us and ensure that we are equipped with the tools needed to deliver that message.
I have received a great deal of pushback since telling MY STORY (as have many others), and advocating for mental illness. There have been times when some of the people who have been the closest to me have fought me in my mission to save others from what I’ve been through. Some of my family and supposed to be friends have turned their backs because they have disagreed with my platform; calling it negative. There were times when I have regressed. This was a result of the lack of support from the very people who have claimed to have loved me, yet turned their backs because of what they didn’t understand. What I know now, is that nothing has happened by chance. Although difficult, and although the battle is far from over, God has brought me from the darkness into the light on many occasions.
Today, I was almost in that dark place again, but God saw fit to place me in the right element and at the right time. The message was clear. “I will bring you out of the darkness as I always have. “I have given you purpose, and if you save only one, your work has been done. ” I am, and have been in such a place of peace since He has made my purpose clear. The more the enemy attempts to quell my voice, the more POWER God gives me. I am here for the purpose of giving hope, spreading love, saving lives, and telling others that GOD IS REAL. I want everyone who is stuck in their darkness to know that God redeems, He saves, He turns darkness into light. Never give up on God. Most importantly, never stop believing in yourself and know that you are loved and are never alone. ❤️ KEEP BELIEVING IN GOD AND WATCH HIM TURN YOUR DARKNESS INTO LIGHT.
