Up one day, and down the next; life is back and forth, much like a boxing match. It’s definitely crazy where we may find ourselves from day to day. We can never become comfortable with treating others in a mean or nasty way. No matter how successful any of us may be, no matter what side of the tracks we come from, please try to see that being prideful and pompous are not the way to be. We should operate with humility.
Today, on this 13th Day of Lent 2023, the challenge is to be humble. Having a modest opinion of ourselves doesn’t mean that we don’t love ourselves. It simply means that we are not boastful or think we are better than others. In addition, we are mindful of where we came from. When we are humble, we know that our accomplishments are God given, and our actions reflect modesty and great fulness.
Oftentimes, if may be difficult to show humility when we have struggled for so long, but we must never lose sight of where we came from. Losing sight of our fight to overcome can have us back where we began. During this Lenten journey let’s be humble knowing that it was only by the grace of God we have made it thus far, and with God’s continued mercy we will make it through the rest of this journey whole…Mind, Body, and Spirit.
