I’m just sitting here reflecting. I handled today’s events very well. I have a long way to come, but I’m so much better than where I was. Even Snickerdoodle and I had a much better outcome than we normally do, compared to how things have been going. I am grateful for this positive change. We both were able to use our therapy session from last week, to patiently, and effectively, communicate our feelings.
What many people fail to understand, is that keeping our feelings bottled up, is an unhealthy and unproductive way to handle our problems. Not talking to someone to express our worries, concerns, and fears…our problems, prevents us from releasing some of the stress. Overall, we have to stop thinking that sharing, requires the person to solve our problems. Sharing or venting, gives us the ability to release, clear our minds, and regroup. This is one of my coping skills. TALKING…WRITING…SHARING, is how I get through.
For those who keep their hurt, their struggles, and problems inside, please know that someone is always available to listen. Even when you think no one will understand, someone is available. I know that you’ve been struggling for awhile. I know that you’re always left to figure it out. Eventhough it seems that nothing you do is good enough, you aren’t alone.
My spirit has be broken, I have been discarded, and betrayed by the very people whom I have given loyalty and love. My children have been used, abused, misused, neglected, and rejected, and our hearts have been shattered. I have lost my mind, nearly taking my own life. One thing that I have not done, is give up on telling my story. I will never give up on fighting to save my children, fighting to save lives, and advocating for MENTAL HEALTH, PEACE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, BULLYING, and anything that is in opposition of love.
My story is for everyone who has felt any of the feelings that I’ve ever felt, BUT WAS AFRAID TO TALK ABOUT IT. Whatever you are going through, never be afraid to speak up. You’ll be surprised that you are not alone. Together, we can get through this.
Keep your chin up, it’s only a test. Keep fighting.
