I CHOOSE JOY

Someone from my past, asked me how I managed to stay so happy and positive. I thought it was an odd question at first. Then, I realized that not everyone has the same outlook on life that I do. I told them, ‘I’ve always been happy and positive’. “True, you have, but it’s different now. It’s even during the really bad times. Even when you’re sad, you’re happy “, they replied. ” God’s been good to me”, was all I could say.

As I think about the conversation now, I realize, it’s because I stopped wasting my time choosing people who don’t choose me. You see, this person knew me in 2001-2010 when I was a wife and mother. They worked with me during times when I refused to fail at anything. I was asking for God’s help, but not listening; while I was begging to be loved. They saw me while I was choosing to love a man who wanted attention from everyone, but his wife. I was happy and positive; yet without peace. What that person saw that was different, was my new found peace. What I have now is JOY.

During my journey of healing, my recovery process, has taught me the importance of loving me first, and accepting love from those who reciprocate that love. In short, I love everyone, but I choose who chooses me. The key to my happiness has always been simple, but once I unlocked the key to finding my Joy, I haven’t looked back.

We all have the key to unlock the door to our own JOY. Love everyone, BUT CHOOSE WHO CHOOSES YOU!

TOGETHER, WE CAN THRIVE

I am a recently single mother of four wonderful adult children. I love young people and have a passion for developing and motivating people. After spending over thirty years in the customer service industry, and my world was suddenly turned upside down, I found myself having to start my life over. Realizing that I could no longer maintain a healthy mental state while working with the public, I decided to use my passion for helping people and motivating US to turn our PAIN INTO POWER.
