This Crazy World

We live in a crazy world.

People want LOVE, but spread HATE.  They want better, but see the worse possibilities, and fail to have HOPE. They claim to want PEACE, but are attracted to things that bring turmoil. They claim to want everlasting JOY, yet only seek things that bring temporary happiness.

In knowing this,  I have realized, that in order to have different and better, I must do different things that will bring about better things.  Wanting real, pure, everlasting LOVE,  I began to freely give it even when it wasn’t shown to me.  I had to accept that retaliating with HATE, would never bring the real, everlasting LOVE that I desire.  I began to love those, who don’t always love me. Even in a world where there is division,  I intentionally, try to pour love into those who may not be deserving; yet knowing when to walk away.

For my mental health,  I had to remove myself from chaos, in order to have PEACE, and I do what I can to bring peace to others.  In my recovery, I find that some can find PEACE in toxicity.  I am reminded, then, that attempting to be a peacemaker can often interfere with the peace of those, who are comfortable in toxicity. I therefore,  have learned to remove myself from anything that disturbs my peace, and I conciously try avoiding negatively affecting the peace of others.

When things in my world become challenging,  and appear to be hopeless, I hold onto HOPE of better things to come.  I do all I can to speak life into others, and have HOPE for what is coming next.  I’ve realized that thinking negatively will only produce negative results, and there is a blessing in everything.

Finally, after fighting so hard to simply enjoy this life I’m given, I found that focusing on me, and how I react to what is around me, can truly determine my JOY.  Once I stopped letting the actions of others, and the things out of my control, determine how I viewed life, happiness faded, and I found JOY.  I found truth in the statement “the world didn’t give it, the world can’t take it away”. This is an unexplainable and unspeakable JOY.

As I reflect on this Advent Season,  I sadly realize,  that no matter the virtues of PEACE, HOPE, JOY and LOVE, many people will never experience these things.  These virtues won’t exist in their hearts on a daily basis, and they will definitely be non existent during this beautiful Advent Season.  While this is sadly the case, it does not diminish the fact, that we are called to unite as one, defeat the enemy,  and unceasingly bring PEACE, HOPE, JOY and LOVE to this troubled world. It begins with us, and that’s what CHRISTMAS is all about.

On this last Sunday of Advent, no matter how much HATE, TURMOIL, PESSIMISM, and UNHAPPINESS we have encountered,  let’s not make a change, only in our lives, but let us also be a change in the lives of others.  Regardless of what the world says, spread PEACE, HOPE, JOY and LOVE, and make this Christmas Season special for everyone we meet. We must be the change we want to see.

Merry Christmas!

Defy the Stigma!

I am a recently single mother of four wonderful adult children. I love young people and have a passion for developing and motivating people. After spending over thirty years in the customer service industry, and my world was suddenly turned upside down, I found myself having to start my life over. Realizing that I could no longer maintain a healthy mental state while working with the public, I decided to use my passion for helping people and motivating US to turn our PAIN INTO POWER.
