We Need An ‘IN SPITE OF’ Faith

What an amazing day!!! Even with the rain, church was beautiful, and we had a great turnout for our Women’s Ministry gathering. Only those who know my story, can understand my joy.

God laid it on my heart, six years ago, to start a Women’s Ministry. It was my passion, and His purpose, to love a diverse group of women, who wanted love, sisterhood, and support. It was my vision for this Ministry, to focus on loving ourselves, God, and others, and to be a shoulder for one another, while simultaneously, serving our community. As women of various ages, races, and walks of life, and similar stories, we desperately needed a Women’s Ministry in our  church.

I had no idea, that doing the work of God, would be so difficult. My ideas were frowned upon bu yhe very womenI ai.ed to lead and serve, but God told me to keep going.  He positioned me for success, and placed me where my gifts and talents would be better utilized, and appreciated.  After twenty nine years, I stepped out on faith, and joined a new church. As I enter my second year at my new church home, I am thankful that today, we officially have a Women’s Ministry. As the church prayed with, and for us, and as my pastor gave us his blessing,  I felt God’s approval. My heart is full of hope for every life we touch. I’m at peace, knowing that God has ordained this beautiful ministry.  My heart is full of joy, when I think of all of the lives we will touch. Most of all, my heart is growing more in love, as I have been given the opportunity to lead, and serve, the people of God.

Today’s commissioning, is a stark reminder, that God has the final say. When He places something in you, He will also equip you. My mind told me to walk away, but my heart told me to keep going. In my discernment,  I heard God say, “KEEP GOING…FOLLOW MY LEAD…LOVE MY PEOPLE”. As difficult as it was for me to keep going, follow God’s lead, and love His people, I’m glad I listened.  The feeling of God’s approval is absolutely amazing.

As I prepare to wind down for the day, I want to tell you this: Focus on God, and listen to Him. He has placed purpose in each of us, but it takes prayer to figure out exactly what it is. Never think that God’s work is easy; it’s the hardest job you’ll have, but do it anyway.  Remember that the Devil will do all things possible, to destroy your hopes, peace, joy, and your dreams. The enemy will attempt to turn your  heart into stone, and your love into hate. Keep going anyway. Don’t allow the noise of the evil spirits to distract you from your purpose. Sometimes we must leave our comfort zone, and step out on faith; you’ll see, that the blessings God has for you are waiting.

As you read this in its entirety,  I encourage you to start that business,  apply for that promotion,  get that degree, etc. Whatever is in you to do, DO IT. Take a leap of faith, and God will do the rest. Trust Him, believe, Him, and wait on Him. Most of all, be patient. Sometimes, God’s road blocks aren’t ‘NO’, they are ‘NOT RIGHT NOW’.

Have a Super Sunday, and get some IN SPITE OF FAITH.

Defy the Stigma!

I am a recently single mother of four wonderful adult children. I love young people and have a passion for developing and motivating people. After spending over thirty years in the customer service industry, and my world was suddenly turned upside down, I found myself having to start my life over. Realizing that I could no longer maintain a healthy mental state while working with the public, I decided to use my passion for helping people and motivating US to turn our PAIN INTO POWER.
