On this twentieth day of Lent, I am motivated to keep pushing. Although it’s raining outside, I reflect, and smile. Approximately three weeks ago, an older church member stopped me after mass. This member hadn’t seen me since before Christmas. We hugged, and she was happy to see me. “I’ve been holding this for you”, she stated, as she handed me a wrapped package. Extremely busy, I placed the gift on my table, and never stopped to open it. There it remained.
This morning, I noticed I still hadn’t opened the gift, so I did. To my surprise, there was money inside of the envelope with the thoughtful gift. As I opened the envelope and counted the money, I couldn’t believe that this kind, older woman, who barely knows me, thought enough of me, to not only gift me for Christmas, but she gave me money(not a small amount). This unexpected and pleasant, surprise placed a smile on my face this morning. I take these small gestures seriously, because it confirms for me, that there are still good people in the world.
On this Monday, remember that no matter what you go through, you must stay motivated because good will come to us. No matter what the world goes through, Just be kind. Someone sees your heart. YOU ARE LOVED.
