Day 11: GRIEF
Grief is the natural emotional response to loss. Grief can significantly impact our mental health. Many times, grief leads to various conditions like depression, anxiety, and even prolonged grief disorder. Although grief is a normal reaction to loss, it can become overwhelming, interfering with our daily life. We not only experience grief due to death, we grieve relationship losses, job loss, divorce, and illness. Whatever the cause of our grief, if not addressed, grief can cause serious mental health issues.
As another Sunday, and another Mother’s Day comes to a close, I sit, I think, and I smile. Most of all, I pray that anyone grieving the loss of a mother, child, friend…whatever you’re grieving…is comforted in knowing that you are loved. Focus on the beautiful memories you shared with the people you miss, and allow this Mother’s Day to be the best one yet.
If we can turn our grief into gratefulness, we will only shed tears of joy moving forward. I no longer shed tears due to loss and grief. I shed tears of joy. I am thankful that my grief is now gratefulness; affording me the opportunity to have happier and more enjoyable Mother’s Days on Purpose. You too, can turn your Grief into Greatfulness.
