During my healing journey, I have fallen deeper in love with me. Its not that I don’t love other people. I will always love other people, but never again, will I love anyone more than I love me. Mate, friend, parent…outside of my children, I’m not sacrificing my happiness ever again.
Not only do we have to stop being proud of struggle love, we have to stop allowing failures, imperfections, faults, desires, and passed down, antiquated beliefs and mindsets to keep us in places too long. Far too often, we stay in places and with people for too long. For various reasons, we refuse to walk away. Whether out of guilt or loyalty, or due to a lack of self worth, many of us; black…white…man…woman…christians and non believers, allow the value that others place on us to keep us in barren situations.
My healing has shown me that happiness is important. Life is too beautiful to be anything less than happy. I love me and refuse to settle for less than what I want and/or deserve. In my healing, I came to realize that my peace and is worth walking away AND being walked away from. When we know better, we do better. It’s time to do better.
As we come to the end of another year, let’s start this week off right and walk away from what doesn’t emotionally, mentally, and spiritually serve us. If we don’t put ourselves first now, then when? After all, Self-love isn’t selfish; it’s necessary.
Have an amazing day on Purpose!
