So after being accepted into Morehouse, Georgia State, UMES, Michigan State University, Hood, TSU, Norfolk State, Old Dominion, and several others, since he couldn’t go to Duke or Georgia Tech, my baby turned down free rides in order to leave Maryland and stick with his comfort zone. He said IF IT AIN’T BROKE DONT FIX IT.

They wanted my baby and they came after him. THEY WOWED HIM AND MADE HIM FEEL WANTED. He’ll continue his Catholic education at Chestnut Hill College with tons of academic scholarships. In addition, he’s been invited into the STEM program with a scholarship and he will play baseball.  My baby beat the odds!! I am beyond proud!! IT’S ONLY UP FROM HERE SNICKERDOODLE !!!!I love you more than you know!

Noah, you are proof that prayer changes things. You are proof that with God, all things are possible. YOU ARE PROOF THAT SFA TURNS OUT MORE THAN ATHLETES. Monsignor Miller used to say “it ain’t bragging if you did it”. Well, you did it. Through the hurt, brokenness, tears, frustration, roadblocks, mental anguish, sleepless nights, lonely days, unanswered questions, doubts, failures, fears, challenges and numerous losses….when you thought you couldn’t do it…YOU DID IT!!!

Be proud of every accomplishment you achieve, no matter how big or small, God is the creator of them all. When things seem too difficult to bare, just trust that God cares. He will make a way for you. Never lose your faith and always care for your mental health. Never be ashamed of Your Story. Noah Mekhi Owens, you will forever be my Prince, my SONSHINE, my Snickerdoodle. I love you.
